What breakfast catering costs by format, and which morning each one fits
Breakfast catering comes in three formats, and they are not price tiers of one product. Each fits a different morning.
- Continental, $10 to $16 per person. Coffee, pastries, a fruit bowl, yogurt and granola. No staff and nothing that needs a seat. Right for the morning where people arrive across half an hour.
- Hot buffet, climbing toward $28 per person at the top. Scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, a hot protein. Right for the morning that is the event: a cohort start, a quarterly kickoff, an early all-hands. Hot food holds a room in place, which is what the money buys.
- Boxed kits, $10 to $18 per person. One sealed breakfast each, no line, no reason to leave the table. Right for a seated working session or a group split across floors.
Breakfast catering runs about half the price of lunch catering, which is the reason an office can repeat it monthly.
