What is ZeroCater?

ZeroCater makes it easy for companies to feed their people. We bring family style meals from top local restaurants to teams across the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Austin.

How does ZeroCater work?

When you sign up with ZeroCater, you are paired with a Client Success Coordinator who learns the tastes, preferences, and dietary restrictions of your team. Your Client Success Coordinator stores this information in your custom profile to help refine future orders.

ZeroCater partners with independent restaurants, food trucks, and private chefs to bring meals to your office. Your Client Success Coordinator selects the vendor and builds a menu tailored to your team’s needs and preferences. Meals can be provided as part of a subscription service, or as a one-time event.

How much does ZeroCater cost?

Your Client Success Coordinator tailors each menu to your team’s budget, headcount, and desired cuisine. A typical ZeroCater meal ranges from $12–15 per person, which includes tax, tip, and delivery.

Do you serve breakfast too? What about happy hour?

Our vast vendor network allows us to accommodate all meal types —including happy hour, breakfast, lunch, and even dessert bars.

How do you choose your vendor partners?

We search for independently owned restaurants, caterers, food trucks, and private chefs in each of the cities we operate. We believe local entrepreneurs bring a strong sense of pride to their business, resulting in a better overall product than a national chain.

You may find your favorite neighborhood cafe on our vendor list, but there also may be names you’ve never heard of. Our vast selection of restaurant partners extends over 30 cuisine types, including BBQ, sushi, and even the occasional creperie.

Can we choose what to order?

Our service is highly customized, and we encourage you to put faith in our Client Success team. These individuals come from event planning, hospitality, and restaurant industry backgrounds; and are well-versed in our vendors’ offerings. If you have a specific request, your Client Success Coordinator will work with you to bring your vision to the table.

What is included with each meal?

ZeroCater provides an all-inclusive service. Each meal comes complete with menu curation, delivery, and set-up; with plates, utensils, and napkins provided. All meals are presented family- style unless instructed otherwise. Labels are provided for each dish, with dietary restrictions noted.

How do we make sure our office gets enough to eat?

Our Client Success Coordinators are experts in portioning each dish to headcount. A typical spread will include a vegetable, starch, and 4–6 ounces of protein per person. If your team prefers an additional protein, fewer starchy sides, or more greens; we can make those adjustments.

Can we change our order?

We understand plans change. In the case you need to adjust your order, contact your Client Success Coordinator by phone or email. Our restaurant partners need advance notice to prepare additional menu items, so try to make these changes as soon as possible.

What if the food’s late or there’s something wrong with our meal?

We hold high standards for our restaurant partners, with emphasis placed on food quality and timeliness. We monitor each delivery from preparation to the moment it arrives at your office. If an order is late or incorrect, we’ll do all we can to make it right.

When are you going to be in our city?

Currently, we serve the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Austin, but we are growing quickly and plan to expand further soon. Stay tuned!
