Jim ‘N Nick’s smokes pork, brisket, chicken and turkey over hickory in the Southeast, and it sells that food to a group in two places. The catering menu prices combos by the person and delivers for twenty or more. The restaurant menu sells a Gathering Meal that feeds six, twelve or eighteen, ordered a day ahead, at every one of the 63 storefronts read for this guide.
That split is the thing to plan around. Jim ‘N Nick’s feeds a group from two menus, and the headcount decides which one you order from. A team of a dozen picks up a Gathering Meal for 12. A room of thirty orders a combo from the catering menu and has it delivered. Both arrive with the same smoked meats and the same cheese biscuits.

Two Menus, and the Headcount That Splits Them
Jim ‘N Nick’s puts its group food on two menus. The restaurant menu, the one you order a plate from, carries a Value Feast for up to four and a Gathering Meal for six, twelve or eighteen. The catering menu carries combos priced per person, boxed lunches, meats by the pound and trimmings by the gallon, and it states that delivery is available for 20 or more people.
Read together, the two menus cover the headcount line without a gap. Up to eighteen, the restaurant menu has a package sized for the room. From twenty, the catering menu delivers. The one count in between, nineteen, orders a Gathering Meal for eighteen and a pound of something extra, or picks up a catering order; the printed menu ties no headcount to pickup.
| People | Where you order | What you order | What it carries |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 4 | Restaurant menu | Value Feast | One meat, three trimmings, bread |
| 6, 12 or 18 | Restaurant menu, 24 hours ahead | Gathering Meal | One meat, two trimmings, buns or cheese biscuits, iced tea |
| Pickup | Catering menu | Combos, boxed lunches, by the pound | Priced per person or per container; no headcount printed for pickup |
| 20 or more | Catering menu, delivery | Combos, boxed lunches, by the pound | The same menu, delivered and set up, with an order minimum |
Our small group catering page covers why a shared table for ten to fifteen works better without a buffet line, and the catering for 20 people page covers what changes once the room reaches twenty. The Gathering Meal sits on the first page’s side of that line, and the catering combos sit on the second.
One brand in this series runs more than one catering menu with a different package size on each, and our Denny’s catering guide walks through reading those listings. Jim ‘N Nick’s is the simpler case. The restaurant menu and the catering menu divide the work by headcount, and each one prints its package sizes on the line.
Gathering Meals: 6, 12 or 18, Ordered a Day Ahead
The Gathering Meal is the restaurant menu’s answer to a team lunch. The brand’s listing reads the same at all 63 storefronts: it feeds 6, 12 or 18 people, it includes buns or cheese biscuits, iced tea and two trimmings, and it must be ordered 24 hours in advance. The two trimmings come from a short list of three, baked beans, coleslaw or potato salad.
Five meats appear as a Gathering Meal: pulled pork, whole chicken, sliced brisket, sliced turkey and spare ribs. You pick one meat per meal, so a team that wants both pork and brisket orders two Gathering Meals in the smaller sizes rather than one in the larger. The storefront asks for the size first when you order.
Below six, the same menu sells a Value Feast that the brand describes as feeding up to four, with one meat, three trimmings and a bread choice. Two Value Feasts and a Gathering Meal for six cover a room of fourteen with three meats on the table, which is one way to get variety at a size the catering menu does not deliver to.

The Catering Combos: One, Two or Three Meats Per Person
The printed catering menu sells three combos, priced per person by how many meats you put on the line: one, two or three. Everything else in the combo stays the same across the three. The menu lists two scratch-made trimmings, Bar-B-Q sauce, cheese biscuits, buns, pickles, fresh-brewed iced tea, plates, napkins and cutlery with each one.
The meats are pulled pork, pulled chicken, bone-in chicken, sliced turkey and sliced brisket. On the brand’s catering ordering site, each combo asks for its meats one at a time from that list of five and for two trimmings from a list of seven: mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, collard greens, seasonal fruit and BBQ corn. Brisket carries an added per-person charge on every combo. Spare ribs and jalapeno cheddar sausage are add-ons, priced per person on top of the combo, and on the ordering site the three-meat combo also lets either one fill a meat slot at the add-on charge.
A meat-count ladder like this one is common in barbecue catering, and our Dickey’s catering guide covers a brand built around it. The planning point for Jim ‘N Nick’s is the kit. The combo arrives with its bread, its tea and its paper goods, so a delivered combo is a full table with nothing else to source.
| Meat | Catering combo | Gathering Meal | By the pound | Boxed lunch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pulled pork | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Pulled chicken | Yes | No | Yes | Yes |
| Chicken on the bone | Yes | Whole chicken | Whole chicken | No |
| Sliced turkey | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Beef brisket | Yes, added charge | Yes | Yes | Yes, added charge |
| Spare ribs | Add-on | Yes | By three pounds | No |
| Jalapeno cheddar sausage | Add-on | No | Yes | No |
The table above reads the four places a meat can appear. Pulled pork, sliced turkey and brisket show up everywhere. Pulled chicken skips the Gathering Meal, where chicken comes whole. Sausage is by the pound or an add-on, and it skips the box.
Bar-B-Q by the Pound
Both menus sell the meats loose. The catering site lists pulled pork, pulled chicken, turkey breast, beef brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage by the pound, whole chicken by the bird and spare ribs by the three-pound rack, each with “Sauce and pickles included.” The restaurant menu lists six of the same meats under Bulk Protein, and every line at all 63 storefronts carries the brand’s own serves count: “Each pound serves 2-3 People.”
That line is the useful one. Rather than working out a portion yourself, read the brand’s count and size the order to it. A whole chicken and a three-pound rack of ribs each serve two to three on the same menu. The catering site’s pulled pork listing says it serves three to four, so the two menus disagree by about one person per pound; order to the count on the menu you are using, and lean toward the restaurant’s.
Our BBQ catering menus page covers how barbecue is sold by the pound against per person, and the portion arithmetic under both. This guide leaves the arithmetic there and uses the brand’s printed count.

Trimmings by the Half Gallon and Gallon
On the catering menu, every trimming comes in two sizes, and the serves line is the same for all six sold by volume: a half gallon serves 10 to 12 and a gallon serves 20 to 24. Baked beans, collard greens, mac and cheese, potato salad, coleslaw and seasonal fruit all follow it. BBQ corn is the one trimming sold by the piece, as 24 half cobs.
The restaurant menu sizes the same trimmings in four steps, pint, quart, half gallon and gallon, and prints a serves count on every step. Five of them share one ladder. Mac and cheese gets its own, and it runs lower at every size.
| Restaurant menu size | Beans, slaw, potato salad, collards, fruit serve | Mac & cheese serves |
|---|---|---|
| Pint | 2 to 4 | 2 to 3 |
| Quart | 6 to 8 | 4 to 6 |
| Half gallon | 15 to 20 | 10 to 15 |
| Gallon | 20 to 30 | 15 to 20 |
Read that as a scoop size. The brand expects a plate to take more mac and cheese than beans or slaw, so a gallon of it covers fewer people. On the catering menu the two ladders collapse into one, so when you order mac and cheese there, count it toward the top of the 10 to 12 and 20 to 24 ranges, and let beans and slaw sit toward the bottom. A combo already carries two trimmings per person; the bulk sizes are for a third trimming or for a by-the-pound order that has none.
Pan arithmetic in general, where each pan size carries a stated headcount, is covered in our Capriotti’s spotlight. The Jim ‘N Nick’s version uses kitchen volumes instead of pans, and the mac and cheese line is the one to watch.

Boxed Lunches: One Sandwich, One Trimming, One Drink
The boxed lunch is the catering menu’s per-person order for a meeting that eats at desks. The ordering site asks three questions: the sandwich, in pulled pork, pulled chicken, smoked sliced turkey or beef brisket; one trimming, from mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad or seasonal fruit; and a drink, from bottled water, sweet tea or unsweet tea. The printed menu adds a cookie to the box. Brisket adds a per-person charge here as it does on the combos.
The box list is shorter than the combo list in two places. Chicken comes pulled only, with no bone-in choice, and collards and BBQ corn stay on the buffet side. For a room that splits between a shared table and desk lunches, our guide to boxed lunch, buffet and family style covers how to decide, and the directory’s boxed meals menu page lists local catering partners for the boxed side.

Sauces: Which Meat Each One Comes With
Jim ‘N Nick’s makes more than one sauce, and the restaurant menu pairs them by meat. The plate descriptions read the same across the storefronts: pulled pork and brisket come with Original Bar-B-Q Sauce; the Carolina Pork Plate comes chopped and tossed in Carolina Vinegar Sauce or pulled with Carolina Mustard Sauce on the side; chicken plates offer Original, Carolina Mustard or Morgan Co. White Sauce; turkey offers Original or Morgan Co. White.
| Meat | Sauce the brand pairs with it | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Pulled pork | Original Bar-B-Q | Carolina Vinegar (chopped) or Carolina Mustard (pulled) on the Carolina Pork Plate |
| Beef brisket | Original Bar-B-Q | Sliced or chopped; marbled or lean |
| Chicken | Original Bar-B-Q, Carolina Mustard or Morgan Co. White | Your choice on the plate |
| Turkey | Original Bar-B-Q or Morgan Co. White | Two choices |
| Smoked wings | Buffalo, Honey Habanero BBQ or Morgan Co. White | Sold by the dozen |
For a catering order, the combo and the by-the-pound lines include Bar-B-Q sauce, and the catering site sells nine sauces and dressings on their own in a cup, a pint or a quart: Original Bar-B-Q, Morgan Co. White, Honey Habanero BBQ, Carolina Mustard, Ranch, BBQ Ranch, Vinaigrette, Blue Cheese and Honey Mustard. A quart of white sauce next to the chicken and a quart of Carolina Mustard next to the pork lets each table follow the pairings above without asking the kitchen to split the order.
Wings, Salad, Breads, Desserts and Drinks
The rest of the catering menu sells by the dozen, the pan or the gallon, and each line prints a count. Smoked wings, chicken tenders and deviled eggs come by the dozen; the wings take one of three sauces, and the tenders come with a pint of sauce or dressing. The garden salad is one pan that serves 10 to 12, with one or two dressings chosen from five.
Breads are the brand’s two signatures by the pack: cheese biscuits by the dozen and Martin’s potato buns by the eight-count. A combo already includes both, so the packs are for a by-the-pound order or for a room that wants a second biscuit each. Desserts carry serves counts too: Mable’s Lemon Ice Box Pie Bar serves 15 to 20, banana pudding serves 20 to 25, brownie bites serve 20, and chocolate chip toffee cookies come by the dozen. Sweet tea, unsweet tea and Dave’s Lemonade come by the gallon, which the menu lists as serving 10, with cups included.
The catering site also sells two supply lines: a paper goods set of a plate, napkins and cutlery for a by-the-pound order that has none, and a wire rack and sterno set for a buffet that needs to stay warm through a long meeting.
Two Office Orders Built From the Two Menus
A team lunch for 12. Order a Gathering Meal for 12 from the restaurant menu the day before, in pulled pork, with baked beans and coleslaw, cheese biscuits and iced tea. Add a dozen extra biscuits if the team likes them. Pick it up at the storefront on the way in.
An all-hands for 30. Order a two-meat combo for 30 from the catering menu, with pulled pork and sliced turkey, mac and cheese and potato salad as the two trimmings, and choose delivery and set-up. Add a gallon of baked beans as a third trimming, counted at the top of its 20 to 24 range, and a quart of Morgan Co. White for the turkey end of the table. The combo brings the plates, cutlery and tea.
Before either order, ask the room about allergies and diets. Our guide to ordering catering for mixed dietary needs covers how to collect that from a team. The brand publishes its food allergens list as a PDF; speak to the restaurant directly about any serious allergy.
How to Order Jim ‘N Nick’s Catering for the Office
- Count the room. Up to 18, the restaurant menu has a package for it. From 20, the catering menu delivers.
- Under 20: order a Gathering Meal. Use the storefront’s online menu or call, at least 24 hours ahead, and choose the size, the meat, two trimmings and buns or biscuits.
- From 20: open the catering ordering site. Set your location first; the menu shows pricing once it knows the storefront.
- Pick the format. A combo for a shared table, boxed lunches for desks, or meats by the pound with trimmings by the gallon.
- Choose delivery and set-up, or pickup. The catering page describes delivery and set-up as the buffet set up for you, with the staff leaving you to serve. Delivery orders carry a delivery fee, and tax and gratuity are not included on the menu price.
- Add the extras. A sauce by the quart, a dessert sized to the room, and the wire rack and sterno set if the buffet will sit for a while.
- For full service, ask for a quote. The catering page’s form covers staffed buffets and action stations.

Where Jim ‘N Nick’s Fits
The storefronts read for this guide sit in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina and Mississippi, with the largest share in Georgia. Georgia offices can compare the brand with the local catering partners on our Atlanta catering page, the Atlanta BBQ catering page and the Atlanta corporate event catering guide.
A delivered combo suits an all-hands, a company picnic or a Fourth of July lunch, and the directory’s buffet menu page covers how a shared line runs. A Gathering Meal suits the Tuesday team lunch. Our BBQ corporate catering guide covers the cuisine across every brand, and the Southern catering page lists partners for the sides.
If your team knows other casual chains that cater, the Golden Corral catering guide and the Chili’s catering guide cover two of them. The full catering directory lists the rest.
A Better Option for Recurring Office Meals
Jim ‘N Nick’s makes a one-off barbecue lunch easy: pick the menu that matches the headcount, choose a meat, and the kit comes with it. An office that eats together several times a week, and wants the food to change, needs a different setup.
Zerocater runs office catering as a program. You describe the room once, including who skips pork and who needs a lighter plate, and CaterAi builds a menu from local catering partners that deliver to your address, then rotates it so the food changes week to week. Our office lunch ideas show what a rotation can look like, how it works walks through the steps, and our corporate catering page covers the service in full.
