At Zerocater, people are the foundation that our company is built upon. Each month, we’ll introduce you to a new team member who makes our world go round. Whether you’re a customer, partner or prospective future employee we invite you to curl up and prepare to meet the people who make the magic of Zerocater happen.
So, what you do at Zerocater?
I wear a lot of different hats as a People Operations Coordinator. My main responsibilities include managing our onboarding/offboarding processes, coordinating and conducting new hire orientations, aggregating and analyzing data on our employee engagement and culture, maintaining recurring HR processes and everything in between! If it has anything to do with our people here at Zerocater, there is a good chance I get to play a part in it.
What impact do you think your role has on the company?
I get to be one of the first interactions someone will have with Zerocater. Whether you are an outside vendor, an upcoming new hire, or it is your first day as an employee at HQ. This first impression sets the tone for the rest of their journey here and is one that I hope captures the values we live out here at Zerocater.
What’s the opportunity for career growth at Zerocater?
I have had the chance to work in multiple roles within Zerocater. I began as an On-Site Specialist who essentially oversees the meal service for our customer sites. Our On-Site team members are truly the heroes of Zerocater because they are the ones on the ground interacting with our customers and bringing to life who we are and what we value. An opening for a Human Resources Intern opened up in our HR department and I applied. I am so grateful to our Director of People Operations for seeing the potential in me and giving me the opportunity to learn and grow professionally and as a person here at Zerocater. I was recently promoted to People Operations Coordinator in September and love the idea that my role allows me to play a part in helping someone else develop and grow here every day.
What excites you most about coming to work each day?
The people. We have an incredible team here at Zerocater made up of unique individuals with diverse skills, backgrounds, and perspectives. Having a passionate team united by a shared goal and vision inspires me to work towards building a better Zerocater every day.
What company value do you most identify with and why?
Lead with Trust and Respect. This value has everything to do with building and maintaining meaningful relationships within the workplace. Company culture is developed and shaped by the people within it and the relationships they build with one another. “Leading with Trust and Respect” means that in the everyday interactions between Zerocater team members, they all feel mutually respected, heard and understood. Everyone not only has a seat at the table but also feels encouraged to be there. My hope is that through my role I can play a part in fostering that kind of community.
If you could create one holiday, what would you create? What food would you eat on this holiday?
Sharing Day! This could mean the sharing of your wisdom, resources, stories, time, etc. I would love the tradition to be that everyone shares a meal with someone else, maybe over a family dish or a cultural meal that is different than yours. That way every year you could eat something you hadn’t the previous year and share a new culinary experience with someone else!
What food could you not live without?
I love ice cream. I will eat ice cream any time of day, in any kind of weather, in truly any form.
If you could pick three famous people as guests to your own special dinner party, who would you invite?
Claire Saffitz (#IWDFCFTBATK), Samin Nosrat, and Alice Waters. They all have such a deep appreciation for food, are brilliant at articulating their love for it and have all of that together around one table would be magical!
If you could only eat at one restaurant forever, what restaurant would it be?
Che Fico in San Francisco. I would happily eat their butternut squash bottoni until the end of time.
