Monte Cristos, Reubens, BLTAs, and Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches are a big part of who I am as a self-proclaimed sandwich connoisseur. Although I pride myself on these staples, there is something to be said about the pursuit of a new and completely distinct sandwich offering. This is exactly why I enjoy Ike’s Place so much, because there over 180 unique sandwiches and each option is beyond amazing.
Established in 2007, the business has not strayed from sandwiches, but in fact, has blossomed exponentially thanks to all the patrons who rave about this one-of-a-kind sandwich shop on Yelp. I’m talking over 6,700 raving reviews with an average 4.5 stars out of 5, attaining almost perfection. Perhaps that is why this restaurant received a Michelin star approved rating and attained awards such as, “Best Restaurant, Best Sandwiches and Best Burger Rewards.”
My recommendation is hands-down #19, “Going Home For Thanksgiving.” It brings just a touch of heat with cranberries, havarti cheese, sriracha and turkey on warm dutch crunch bread that’s baked with Ike Shehadeh’s “dirty secret sauce.” The ingredient pairings are genius and the portions at Ike’s Place are impressive too, so be mindful when you are dining in or picking up.
If you live in the Bay Area and have not yet experienced this sandwich phenomenon, I encourage you to do so and share it with us on here on our blog. From a sandwich lover to another, you won’t be disappointed.
