What’s your favorite song from the 90’s? If it’s Mama by The Spice Girls, then let’s go get a glass of chardonnay and be friends.
I distinctly remember lusting over Lance Bass and getting into fervent arguments about *NSYNC versus The Back Street Boys. (Team *NSYNC, obviously). Also, when did NOW: That’s What I Call Music reach its 54th installment? Call me crazy, but compared with today’s hit list, I miss the Britney and Christina-filled charts of the 90’s past. It actually upsets me to think about some people’s reactions to Missy Elliott’s Super Bowl performance … it also makes me feel incredibly old.
Thankfully, I can still get my dose of yesteryear via The Frosted Tips. Dubbed San Francisco’s favorite cover band, the fivesome plays shows across the city. Their setlist is wholly nineties and fully awesome. Remember those No Doubt songs you screamed at the top of your lungs? They’ll play that and Third Eye Blind frequently makes a comeback during The Frosted Tips’ concerts.
If you’re around tonight pull on your most bleached pair of overalls, fasten your puka shells, and head over to Pedro’s Cantina. The Frosted Tips will be playing all night long and sure to keep the Jock Jams on lock.
