Inside Sales Leader to kick off On-Demand Sales Team
- Darryl Grimm
- On-Demand Sales Manager
- Austin, TX
What did you do prior to joining Zerocater and how did you end up at Zerocater?
After more than 20 years of building and growing inside sales teams, along with sales operations in the high technology field, it was time for a change. Once I learned about Zerocater’s success in only a few markets selling only a subset of product lines, my interest was piqued. When I met sales leadership and saw their vision, passion, and level of support, I was sold.
What is unique or motivating about the work you will do at Zerocater?
Launching a new sales team focused on On-Demand sales to repeat customers not being serviced on a recurring schedule, as well as brand new customers is extremely exciting. There is a tremendous market growth opportunity and I feel like we have only scratched the surface.
Since you are fairly new to joining Zerocater, what project or initiative are you most excited about?
Hiring this team! We plan to add 10 sales members this year. Our goal is to develop team members to succeed at this level and eventually to have the opportunity to be promoted into higher-level roles for Zerocater over time. The team will face challenges but we will find ways to also have fun.
Which Zerocater value resonates most with your team?
Never give up. I was taught early in my career that persistence, discipline, and a clear vision of both short and long term goals are must-have qualities in sales. A “no” today can turn into a “yes” tomorrow. The most successful sales reps that I have met work hard to stay connected to prospects and customers and create good luck.
If there was one word or phrase that describes the Zerocater culture what would it be and why?
Respect. The Zerocater team is built around different backgrounds and interests. Each of us brings a unique experience to the table. Leadership seems very open and receptive to new ideas to solve problems.
What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
I consumed a bottle of dill weed once after a senseless high school bet. Not one of my finer moments and the following 8-10 hours were not pleasant.
Best BBQ in Austin?
For my taste, it is Rudy’s. Never thought that a chain restaurant often with gasoline pumps out front would serve such delicious bbq. Salt Lick is a close second with their wonderful mustard-based bbq sauce.
