What did you do prior to joining Zerocater and how did you end up at Zerocater?
I worked in sales at a company called Poken. Poken is a brilliant trade show networking technology and I was part of the team that introduced the technology to the US market. I found Zerocater by being a customer. I was blown away by not just the food, but the technology that went into curating each meal and how it brought the office together.
Sadly, not all startups have a happy ending and our US launch eventually had to come to an end. When this happened, I thought about the positive experience I had with Zerocater and knew I had to apply.
What is unique or motivating about your work at Zerocater?
As we’re scaling, there is always a new challenge to tackle. I’ve been part of breaking into a new market, tackling a new segment, and launching a new product. What keeps me motivated is always working on a new project with a great team. Zerocater is truly changing the marketplace and it’s invigorating working on new projects that will further make us the market leader.
Can you share a particular project or highlight since joining Zerocater that you are most proud of?
I was part of the team that launched our D.C market. It was great to hire and build a team that brought our technology to a new city. My VP of Operations described it as an MBA program wrapped into a job.
Which Zerocater value resonates most with your team?
Create Delight. Unlike software where the technology might only be used by a single department, food serves the entire company. Create Delight resonates with me because a great meal has the ability to bring people together (sales, accounting, marketing, engineering) to share ideas, and push the company forward. This to me is what Zerocater does best, consistently strive to find new ways to delight our customers.
If there was one word or phrase that describes your company culture what would it be and why?
Put the customer first.
Tell us about your career progression at Zerocater. What made you want to move into management?
I began at Zerocater as an Account Executive and progressed to a Senior role. Throughout my time as an individual contributor, I fell in love with the sales, and wanted to share my passion for building a team.
What is your favorite thing about working at Zerocater?
The people, the food, the dogs!
If you could have any famous chef cook you a meal, who would it be?
Francis Mallmann for sure. Did you see the Chef’s Table episode? I would ask him about his philosophy on life, then food.
What is your favorite snack in the office?
I love savory snacks, seaweed or olives, please!
