What did you do prior to joining Zerocater and how did you end up at Zerocater?
Prior to working at Zerocater, I worked at a startup company called ZocDoc where I was the 14th hire. As their first inside sales manager, I quickly helped them scale an inside sales team to 25 people. Eventually, I took on a leadership role in the sales organization driving expansion efforts across the country. My last project was segmenting the sales organization and leading their first mid-market sales team. After 9 great years, I was looking for my next challenge. My goal was to go to a company that was disrupting an industry, had a great product, and an amazing team. Zerocater met all those needs and I am excited to take on the challenge of growing the service in expansion cities.
What is unique or motivating about the work you do at Zerocater?
My team is responsible for growing 4 of our expansion markets from the New York office. Our team is small, but we can see the impact we bring to these new markets every day. The office feels like a startup within a startup because the team is small, scrappy, and wearing a lot of hats. As a group, we’re motivated because we know that if we succeed the growth opportunity has no limits.
Since you are fairly new to joining Zerocater, what project or initiative are you most excited about?
Hiring. I love building new teams, especially when the market has a ton of opportunity. As of right now, I’m looking to double my current team in New York in order to meet market demands. My goal is to build my own dream team who want to disrupt this industry as badly as I do. I also love working with new people who bring their own unique ideas and experiences. It helps me grow as a sales leader.
Which Zerocater value resonates most with your team?
Never give up – My team knows that building new markets won’t be easy. There will be new challenges that we’ll need to face head-on. Through resilience and teamwork, we’ll rise above these challenges.
If there was one word or phrase that describes your company culture from what you have experienced so far, what would it be and why?
Just do it – You can’t sit around and expect things to get done around you. I’ve found that I have a lot of control over the success or failure of my team and markets. Everyone in the New York office takes on challenges head-on.
If you could take a cooking class from any famous chef, who would it be?
Guy Fieri. I want to know how to get to Flavortown.
What is your favorite type of cuisine?
Taco Bell….okay, maybe that doesn’t count. Italian if I had to really choose.
