If you’ve never tried an açaí bowl, you may be missing out. This healthy, smoothie-like breakfast features the açaí berry, a superfood touted for its high antioxidant capacity. Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) is a grape-like tropical fruit native to the rainforests of South America, namely in Brazil. While there aren’t a ton of studies on açaí, research suggests this berry can reduce inflammation and reduce exercise-induced muscle damage. But enough about the science stuff.
