What does Zerocater do?
Zerocater strives to help companies foster great culture, retain strong talent, and connect different departments over the food they share! We pride ourselves on truly caring about our client experience, and connecting great local vendors with companies who are as obsessed with food as we are!
Tell us about your role on the team, and how it’s grown since you started.
I have been in the role of CSS since I began at Zerocater, and it has been a wonderful learning experience for me! The team I manage has grown, gotten smaller, and then grown again just recently! One of my favorite parts of my career has been the opportunity to manage team members who are excited about building their own career, and doing my best to coach them and help them reach success! In my role, I get the best of both worlds: managing a team and interacting with clients of my own. I have always been a people person, so getting the chance to interact with so many different personalities is a blast. I’ve learned so much about account management and project management, it’s exciting to see how far I’ve come.
What were you doing before, and why did you decide to join Zerocater?
Before Zerocater I worked for six and a half years at a bakery called SusieCakes. When I joined the company they had around 6 bakeries within California, and when I left we were pushing twenty between California and Texas. I began as an Assistant Manager at their SF location, then moved into the General Manager role of the highest grossing bakery in the company, and then to District Manager where I oversaw the operations and teams of 7 Northern California bakeries. After 6+ years at SusieCakes I was ready for a change of pace, and to learn a little more about account management and the food tech world. I found Zerocater and after meeting the team was thrilled about the opportunity!
What is the hardest part of your role at Zerocater?
Currently, the hardest part of my role is balancing my time between the team and my clients, and ensuring they get the support and guidance they need. With snacks rolling out in San Francisco we are working as a team to chart new territory and a lot of my focus is guiding our clients, and team members, through it. While it’s challenging, it has been a great learning and growth opportunity for us all.
What is the best part of your role at Zerocater?
The people!!!! Hands down. I love the team I work with, they keep me laughing and are what I’m most excited for each day! I also love so many of my admins who I have become close with through our work together! It’s always great to catch up and see the positive impact we make in other offices.
What are the opportunities for growth at Zerocater?
The growth I have seen at Zerocater has been great! While I have maintained the same role, I have been able to grow my skill set in project management, account management, and even learned more about the tech world and how it works. The great part about ZC is that they foster and value development for all team members. The education fund has been a great resource for taking classes to learn more about Client Success, and my leaders have taken a great interest in helping me reach goals for future growth in my own career.
At this moment, what are you most excited about at Zerocater?
Currently, I am most excited about all the new talent we have on our team! The CS team has grown a significant amount over the past few months and we have awesome team members! It has been so great to see our veterans take them under their wings and help us build a very strong team!
How do you start your day?
Always with a cup of coffee, and maybe a little catch up on social media…. Then generally going through emails and making my to-do list for the day. I am a MAJOR list follower (pencil and paper, old school!), so that helps me tackle everything and prioritize so I don’t get overwhelmed.
Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself?
I was president of my sorority
I swallowed a quarter when I was young
I was a competitive tap dancer.
If there was a movie made about your life what would the movie title be and who would you want to play you?
“Eat, Laugh, Love: The True Story of Riley Hasselfeld”- And I would pick Drew Barrymore because she is very happy-go-lucky 🙂
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
I love to spend time with my family and friends 🙂 We are big park people who love to fly kites and play lawn games. We do BBQ’s at my parent’s house on the regular, and also love to go to the movies. My husband and I also love music, so going to concerts or building our record collection is always a fun way to pass time.
Last question, what is your favorite meal you’ve had at Zerocater?
That is SO HARD! They are all delicious…. But, if I had to choose I would most likely go with a Taco bar since those tend to be my favorite. Guerilla on a Tuesday is the best though, so I can get some churros too 🙂
