Dave’s dedication to his team is unmatched–he takes huge pride in the quality of the On-Site Specialist team and their work and the massive positive effect it has on our client experience. He has grown immensely in his skills as a manager as well, and it is a pleasure to work with him around how to solve the interesting challenges our team is facing. Plus, his giving spirit is fully evidenced by how willing he is to teach the office about Star Wars. I couldn’t ask for a better team member! – Chelsea Colby, Logistics Manager

What does Zerocater do?
Ordering food for large groups of people takes a lot of work and can be a stressful situation. Zerocater takes that workload from our clients so they can enjoy great food worry free.
Tell us about your role on the team, and how it’s grown since you started.
I am the Logistics Coordinator for all of Zerocater’s east coast cities (ATX, CHI, DC, and NYC). I manage our team of On-Site Specialists. We provide amazing on-site service to many of our largest clients.
Since I started the role, we have seen a large increase in the number of clients who are using our on-site service. The biggest change has been the sheer number of people working as part of the Logistics Team. As we continue to feed more people our team continues to grow.
What were you doing before, and why did you decide to join Zerocater?
Prior to Zerocater, I was working in a research lab. I moved from Philadelphia to NYC and started working as an OSS while I searched for a new job. I really enjoyed the work, the people, and the office environment so I decided to stick around.
What is the hardest part about your role at Zerocater?
Managing team members in different cities. It takes constant effort and communication to make sure everyone is on the same page.
What is the best part about your role at Zerocater?
The collaboration. As Logistics Coordinator I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with many people in different departments and cities.
What are the opportunities for growth at Zerocater?
I am currently in my third role here at Zerocater so I am speaking from personal experience when I say there is always an opportunity to grow at Zerocater. I also work with several great people on my team who started working as an on-site specialist and have moved up to other roles in the company.
At this moment, what are you most excited about at Zerocater?
Bringing Snacks to the New York market. It is going to open up countless opportunities for the entire NYC team.
How do you start your day?
I am the first person to arrive at the NYC office every morning. I have the place to myself for about 30 minutes. So I start my workday by blasting country music and drinking lots of coffee.
Tell us two lies and one truth about yourself?*
- I was once fishing on a boat when we were caught in a storm. The boat sank and I had to swim to shore.
- I am a big healthy eater. I love to eat the salads and veggies provided by our amazing vendors.
- I spent the summer after college hiking the Appalachian Trail.
If there was a movie made about your life what would the movie title be and who would you want to play you?
“An Ohio Kid in the Big City” starring John Krasinski
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
On the weekends I like to leave to head up to the Hudson Valley and go hiking. During the week I head to the gym after work and then end the day by reading a book.
Last question, what is your favorite meal you’ve had at Zerocater?
My favorite vendor in NYC is Schnitz. They have a grain bowl meal that comes with an amazing honey sriracha sauce.
