At the beginning of May, we got pretty amped that the summer months were approaching. We decided that we wanted everyone to share in this excitement, and held our first ever Summer Kickoff contest. After many entries, we selected a winner (at random) to receive our prize—$250 toward a seasonal spread curated especially for your office.
The lucky company that came away with it is a current Zerocater recurring client, Flocabulary. Flocabulary is an online library of educational hip-hop songs and videos geared toward grades K-12. They work with over 35,000 schools to engage and motivate students and instill a love for learning that they can carry students into whatever endeavor they choose.
They have a plethora of videos for all different subjects and work within Common Core Standards to ensure classes meet all necessary objectives. Their affordable service can be customized to fit in with any lesson or curriculum, and their videos have proven to result in higher test scores and proficiency for students.
Their cozy, yet open, office space is typical to what you would find in any office space located in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn, emitting lots of natural light and encouraging employees to make the office their own home away from home. When I stopped by to check in on things, everyone was very welcoming and I could instantly tell how much everyone loved working for the company.
Flocabulary usually eats lunch with Zerocater, so to give them a little variety, we treated them to a happy hour. The spread was provided by one of our top-rated Brooklyn vendors, L’Isola. They served up a meat, cheese, and olive platter with the whole nine yards (as an Italian-American, even just typing this gets me excited), miniature rice balls made with meat, peas and cheese, fresh tomato and basil bruschetta, and rounded it out with one of their classic cheese pizzas.
Their office manager, Careyanne Deyo, shared these kind words with me: “We love working with Zerocater at Flocabulary. Planning an event takes only a few minutes thanks to the selected menus. My favorite feature is how dietary requests can be accommodated. Menus have clear dietary labels and when the caterers deliver, they include the signs for the food that allow my team to know what’s safe for them to eat.”
Hearing these encouraging words and seeing teams like Flocabulary enjoying our services firsthand is exactly why we do what we do—and could not make us happier.
