What did you do prior to joining Zerocater and how did you end up at Zerocater?
I have had the opportunity to run sales, customer success and demand generation across several organizations over the past 15 years. Even as much of my experience has been in the SaaS space, a business model that I have found very intriguing and compelling is the disruption and eventual dominance of an old school, established business model that has significant inefficiencies and gaps in the value to customers, by innovators that rethink and reinvent the business model to deliver far superior value to the customer.
Zerocater is exactly that kind of an innovator. I had the opportunity to meet the amazing team at Zerocater, and to help lead the company to hyperscale growth. It was simply much too exciting an opportunity which made joining this team an easy and obvious decision.
What is unique or motivating about the work you do at Zerocater?
If I had to answer this question in one sentence, I’d say – The strong need customers have for high-value corporate food solutions, combined with the unbeatable product Zerocater offers, are the critical ingredients for an amazing success story in the making. That demand, combined with an exceptional product and our values that inspire and foster high-performance, results in an opportunity to become the dominant market leaders in the enterprise food solution space.
Since you are fairly new to joining Zerocater, what project or initiative are you most excited about?
I love building high-performing teams, particularly in the market-facing revenue realm. This involves hiring the right people, providing them the right tools, resources and training necessary to uncork their potential, and continually optimizing our business to ensure we operate at peak efficiency with the singular goal of delivering extraordinary value to our customers. Achieving this goal means working together, bringing out the best in each other, and winning as a team!
Which Zerocater value resonates most with your team?
Every single one of our values works to reinforce the other – each is a vital ingredient in the recipe of our success. That very important point being said, “Never Give Up” has a particularly important significance and place for Revenue teams. More than any other team, Sales and Customer Success are all about presenting customers with value, and in many cases, educating and persuading them of that value. Revenue teams must be resilient, energetic and highly focused on positive outcomes. Our business is one that is all about delivering results.
If there was one word or phrase that describes your team culture what would it be and why?
Results-oriented. We are a revenue team, and everything we do, spend time and energy on, and think about, has to be on achieving and exceeding the results we have laid out for ourselves. It’s almost as if Arthur Helps penned his famous quote, “Nothing succeeds like success” with a revenue organization in mind.
You are widely-traveled and have lived in several countries. What cuisine is your favorite?
Oh boy! That is an almost impossible question to answer for me. I literally have favorite preparations from almost every cuisine I know, and I love to create my own curated cuisine with an eclectic mix from a wide range of cuisines. But I’ll answer it this way – let me pick three. The first would be Italian – Italian cuisine is exquisite in their mix of herbs, spices, condiments, meats and starches. The second would be Mexican – the combination of meat, grain, sauces and peppers is unique like none other. After all, red chilli peppers originated from Mexico. Lastly, Indian cuisine. There is simply no other cuisine in the world that can beat Indian cuisine in terms of the range of vegetarian or vegan culinary choices, not to mention the wide variety of meat-based delicacies as well.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I have a wide range of interests – from flying my plane, writing, watching and reading science and science fiction, photography, cooking, to name a few. I try to do a little of each of these as time permits.
