The third annual BottleRock Napa Valley kicks off the summer festival season this weekend, offering an exquisite selection of local specialty food and drink alongside a unique music lineup. From indie to dance to funk, this Napa-style festival has one of the most diverse lineups in California, making it a festival truly for anyone’s taste.
Napa County is a food and wine lover’s heaven on earth—and the organizers of this year’s BottleRock Napa Valley are aiming to mix the best of both worlds by focusing on creating a unique culinary experience. For the first time, Napa’s BottleRock festival is upping the ante by adding a Williams Sonoma-sponsored stage dedicated to all things culinary for the three day festival coming up, May 29 through 31, in Napa.
The Williams Sonoma Culinary Stage will showcase some of the country’s top chefs, restaurateurs, sommeliers, winemakers, and craft brewers, offering up cooking demos and other activities from a variety of culinary rock stars. Catch a glimpse of participating A-list chefs duking it out in a culinary competition, including Masaharu Morimoto of “Iron Chef” fame and Michael Mina of the Mina Group.
The potential for the culinary stage to steal the show is huge, especially when musicians like Snoop Dogg take the stage with the chefs in a “culinary mash-up”. Those on board to participate include Snoop Dogg, Flavor Flav, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vernon Davis of the San Francisco 49ers and many more.
Festival goers will also enjoy a global tour of culinary offerings, featuring Japanese, Indian, Italian, Spanish, Mexican, American, Mediterranean, and Vietnamese cuisines. If you’re making your way to Napa this weekend, make sure to drop by some of Zerocater’s favorite vendors listed below that are making an appearance.
Azalina’s Malaysian: A fifth-generation cook from Penang Island, Azalina Eusope makes dishes that are an enticing combination of Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisines.
Farmerbrown’s, Little Skillet: The SOMA based offshoot provides deliciously decadent soul food and comfort dishes, all made from scratch.
El Porteño’s: Empanadas will send those familiar with this Argentine staple on a trip down memory lane. Each buttery and flaky bite evokes the sights and sounds of Buenos Aires.
Oh yeah, and there are about 70 bands and major headliners including Imagine Dragons, No Doubt & Robert Plant who’ll entertain you while you stuff your face. You know, if you’re into that.
