Silicon Valley is home to many of the world’s largest tech and startup companies. Entrepreneurs, engineers, and eager dreamers move to be near the epicenter of the business and experience the bevy of opportunities that live in the Bay Area.
The Zerocater team hit ‘The Startup Conference’, a meeting that specifically aims to share new business ideas and discover the best and brightest new companies. Successful founders like Fran Maier from Match.com, and Sam Zaid from Getaround, came to share their expertise and experiences on a panel. After discussion wrapped, the event culminated with a competition where eight new startups worked strenuously to prove their business model and win coveted funding.
Having a wonderful idea is one thing, but being able to pitch a startup idea to venture capitalists, co-founders, press, and local businesses is another. This year, in the conferences’ sixth edition, Oneva, took home the crown. Oneva is an Oakland-based startup that specializes in creating a work-life balance for Bay Area moms and dads.
A big congrats to everyone who attended and participated in the pitch contest this year. We hope to see many of you again next year. For those who may be participating again, you better not forget that the best ideas often happen over food!
