That John Hampden was really on to something.
“Who the heck is that?” You may be asking. Well, a long, long time ago—in a port not so far away from our NYC office—there were some dudes who were pretty upset with the British government and their rules regarding taxes. Inhabitants in the Thirteen Colonies were pretty annoyed with ol’ King George, and decided to start a war called the American Revolution.
We all know what happened next: 1776 rolled around, America became a free land, add in a few decades of progress and change, and here we are on April 15th, 2015: the 60th anniversary of the modern Tax Day.
Citizens of the US typically groan at today’s approach. A year’s worth of hard work, investments, and other milestones all neatly displayed as you frantically try to sort out how much you owe Uncle Sam. If you’re lucky, he might even owe you!
