Attention foodies: it’s that time of the year again! The infamous Off the Grid is back to serve food at the historic waterfront campus of Fort Mason, offering a weekly outdoor food truck bonanza; which also happens to be California’s largest weekly street food market.
The event offers a full bar with free sides of amazing music, craft beer, and soul. Amongst the music and libations, there is an assortment of food. From pork belly burgers to tikka masala burritos, to Korean fried chicken, and salted caramel cupcakes, there is something to satiate appetites of all SF foodies. If that’s not a party, I don’t know what is.
When you’ve finally made a choice (dem fries doe) and are standing in line, your eye may be drawn to Curry Up Now’s deep fried Ravioli, or Garden Creamery’s Peanut Butterlicious ice cream—peanut butter mousse dipped in Guittard milk chocolate and honey roasted peanuts.

You might find yourself in need of a sip of a cold brew when your best friend appears, wild-eyed with an empanada in one hand and fried chicken in the other… some people just aren’t meant for the streets.
Off the Grid isn’t only a time to fall down a culinary rabbit hole (and like it), it’s the epitome of a good time. Friends (BYO), food, beer, and music. What more could we ask for?
If you haven’t experienced the intoxication that is Off the Grid, grab your favorite buddies and get ready to dive headfirst into night fit for Romans.
Maybe I’ll see you there next week. Try to keep your feelings about the peanut butter down this time.
