There’s nothing more refreshing than an ice-cold brew when the sun is shining. Safe to say the inhabitants of San Francisco are enjoying the recent warm weather—typically Karl the Fog freezes everyone’s summer plans. Capitalize on the heatwave and check out some great beer gardens across the Bay:
‘Biergarten’ near Hayes Valley is a great spot for an afternoon beer. There is no shortage of outdoor patio seating, and you can order bar bites and one-liter beers on tap. The suggested summer beer at this hot spot is the “Radler,” a combination of lager and lemon soda.
Zeitgeist is a popular biker bar and beer garden in the Mission District. The food is great if you like bratwursts and hamburgers, and if you are a bloody Mary fan, Zeitgeist’s has been awarded as one of the best in SF!
If you head to the East Bay, Lost & Found is an awesome beer garden. Spacious outdoor seating, plenty of lawn games like bean bags and ping pong and great food to boot. We suggest the Thai curry popcorn or the kimchi-deviled eggs. This Oakland establishment is all about the “outdoor drinking without the fog” so come hungry for a little bit of everything under the sun.
Redwood City locals love Gourmet Haust Satudt as every visit turns into a party. Grabbing a seat before 5pm is critical—this place is always hopping because they have a lot of tasty beer options and the German fare is great too. You really can’t go wrong at this bar, but if you are in a snacking mood, try the large pretzel covered with meat and cheese.
