Souvlaki GR started out as a food truck roaming the streets of the city working to build their clientele. With their charcoal-grilled skewers, incredible pita, and classic tzatziki yogurt sauce, it was only a matter of time until the demand grew high. In 2010, Souvlaki GR was named the Vendy Awards “Rookie of the Year,” and soon after in 2011 they built their official brick-and-mortar in the lower east side of Manhattan.
If you have ever visited New York you know that souvlaki is sold on almost every street corner your nose can smell. However, finding authentic souvlaki is almost impossible here in the States. Visiting Souvlaki GR not only brings true Greek cuisine to the table, but their storefront was designed to resemble the beautiful Greek Islands.
